My name is Gaynor Hughes, a registered nurse and I am passionate about great skin whatever your age, from prevention to repairing, rejuvenating and maintaining healthy looking skin. It’s all about skin.
I’m often asked how did the name Aistheta Skin Clinic come about?
Aistheta – is an ancient Greek word that means ‘things perceptible by the senses’ to which can be expressed as ‘to sense all that is beauty’. It wasn’t until the 18th century that the word Aistheta evolved into the word aesthetics, a familiar word of today that means the formal study of beauty and art.
Please feel free to browse my website where you’ll see a variety of different treatments and skin care products that are designed to help people of all ages, from the age of 18 years and all skin types. Do you have problematic skin such as acne, rosacea, melasma, sun damaged skin, lines and wrinkles and pigmentation? The treatments I offer will help to treat these skin concerns you may have.
Whichever treatment or skin care system you decide to choose, an individual treatment plan will be given plus you will receive the support you need during your journey to better skin health and a youthful looking you.
Over the years I have developed my clinic to offer treatments that meet the needs from the young who maybe in their twenties all the way to the menopausal skin.
Unfortunately the ageing process cannot be stopped but it can be slowed down. The ageing process naturally begins when we are in our twenties, a time when we all tend to ignore it, me included! The years go by and it’s not until we reach our forties when we suddenly start to notice the signs of ageing. This can present itself as lines and wrinkles, dull in appearance, reduced laxity and the beginnings of loss of volume. Apart from the natural ageing process there are other factors that can contribute to many skin concerns whether it is too much sun exposure, our lifestyle, hormones and even stress. The effects of the ageing process can vary from person to person.
Types of treatments that I offer include ones that are given by injections, skin boosters, micro-needling, skin peels, prescription strength skin care products and LED light therapy. Some of these can be used as a standalone treatment or combined; the treatments are bespoke for you.
I also carry out treatments for thread veins both on the face and legs.
A consultation with me is free of charge with no obligation to proceed to any treatments. I have often been told that I am always professional in my approach to my work so you can be assured of confidentiality and feel safe.
If you would like to ask me any questions or receive any advice on improving skin health, then please feel free to contact me and just to add, I have also been told I am very approachable!
I have clinics based in Crewkerne & Poundbury.
